Probably many more than once encountered misunderstandings or even offense to fellow e-mails, which is roughly (according to the recipient’s letter) to express their thoughts at the time, as the author of an electronic message offend anyone does not like. And all because in a letter to the intonations and nuances of speech does not distinguish, for obvious reasons. To further avoid ambiguity in the interpretation of tone of the text, a Canadian company Lymbix set up a program (or rather have only a plugin for Microsoft Outlook) ToneCheck, which can check the tone of emails. With it, users can make sure that the tone of their messages really consistent with what they wanted to say.
The algorithm of the program is based on an analysis of sentences in order to identify the characteristics of one of the eight most common emotions (and their intermediate states), among which are love, joy, joy, contentment, sadness, anger, fear and humiliation.
Beta ToneCheck available at this link. Fixed plugin can be used by pressing one button. This add-in settings can be pre-set parameters that will block the sending of an unverified letter or letters of an inappropriate tone. In this case the user will be asked to rewrite the message or send it, despite the possible undesirable consequences. The program currently understands the letter in English only.
In an active Canadian companies already have a similar application for service Twitter – TweetTone, which allows you to check the tone of the message to the most popular topics.
